What is health insurance like at Bookmyshow?
Pros
Its been a while since I am working for Bookmyshow and I can say no day is the same. Everyday brings new learnings and with new learnings brings greater exposure. I love the people I work with. Everyone is always willing to help and really friendly. Starting from the Day 1 of the induction till date, my experience has just been WOW. The culture is amazing. The Culture Canvas events like Friday night gigs, Open mics, Movie screenings with free popcorn are like the cherry on the cake. BMS is undoubtedly one of the best places to work at - The company gives you number of opportunities to explore and develop yourself - The organization provides many perks to employees which includes flexi working hours, work from home, medical insurance, etc. that my last company never had. There are various workshops every month and employees have the freedom to enhance their skills and nominate themselves for the training workshops too. Atmosphere here is vibrant and filled with positive energy. People are very approachable including the leadership team. I'd say BMS is a playground full of opportunities and great experiences.
Cons
We can have some more outdoor team building events is possible, that'd be so much fun too.

Does Bookmyshow offer parental leave?
Pros
* Salary on time and good genuinely colleagues, team training exercise, leadership building. * There are tones of problems you will get work/solve on the day in day out. * CTO Quoted, Don't leak your money to any 3rd parties; have an in-house solution, always look for saving a penny and earning a penny. I want to highlight here that our CTO mission is to reduce cost and not to leak it. Data-driven culture. Pandemic taught all of us how savings important. * Nine-month back, ~xx GB's logs used to generate! After nine months of clean up ~x GB logs. How did we achieve it? Collaboration & communication from the entire engineering team? Why, What is the purpose, Is it needed? Now, there is very little noise/no fuzz in the system alert. * Reengineered every aspect, DB consolidation, Query optimisation, Stopping DB leaks. Proper connection pooling across the systems. Efficient running the system with minimal resources. * Data Archival: TBs of data stored in MSSQL (Enterprise edition costs $14,256 per core). Migrated entire data to MySQL, able to run the same workload with 50% cost. * Team training & building excise, leadership training. * Migrating 15 years of legacy from On-Prem to AWS, with a completely remote team. 3 months of hardworking, slack was the only collaborative & communication channel no other means, CTO & Leadership team was utterly available throughout the activity shared the knowledge throughout. * Don't hire a new person; prompt the people within the company. CTO's teaches leadership quality. The best part is reaching dev will be difficult; CTO a call away. CTO treats everyone equally as a colleague, genuinely gives constructive feedback on areas of improvement, brings 20 years of experience to the meetings to give resolutions for any kind of problem. * Good people left the company; True, Good people tend to move on, the next person steps up their shoes, to become next good leads; leadership team, manager, CTO teaching/guidance throughout the process of building the new leads. * No questions asked for taking leave; just post it on the #OOO channel
Cons
* Sandwich leave policy * No additional beneficiary’s * Some of the team will have to work with tight deadlines
Advice to Management
No advice Management doing what best for the company and their employees. During pandemic situation given good hike, salary correction across engineering. Management number one priority is to run the show efficiently with a leaner team until business bounce back.
