Does Bureau Veritas offer parental leave?

Pros

Big organision - varied work / interesting customers. Culture of support amongst staff to cope with bullying senior mangers, poor HR, inefficient administration systems and other frustrations.

Cons

Senior managers have a small ambition, short term vision. Prefer £10 this month to £50 next month. Pointless and self defeating pennypinching - "if its cheap then its Bureau Veritas". Compnay uses unpaid staff time to make up for poor and inefficient systems. Consultants expected to do sales, client management, staff management, administration and quality management alongside unrealistic utilisation targets. Most staff feel compelled to do unpaid additional hours just to keep up. Staff going on maternity leave are not replaced - their work is just loaded onto the rest of the team and targets for income remain unchanged. Senior managers run things with a bullying blame culture. You can do 10 things right and get zero aknowledegment - managers focused only on the one target not met. Pay system has zero transparency and promotion is purely budget based with no regard to effort or the fact it is deserved. Last two years in my office has seen a significant increase in staff leaving at all levels - poor management culture, terrible work life balance and uncompetative pay the main reasons.

Advice to Management

Hard to say as anyone critising managment is targeted as a troublemaker not as someone who may have a valid point so not likely they would take any notice anyway. Have noted the main Bureau Veritas response to these reviews going back over several years is " we take all feedback into account and will be sure to look into this further". Despite this no changes ever seem to happen.
