Does Côte Restaurant offer employee discounts?

Pros

Good pay for waitressing Free Lunch included for long shifts 50% discount on food in general

Cons

Very long hours and tiring. Shift work can be restrictive to your social life. Very strict services standards so there’s little room for error, and management come down on you hard if you make a mistake.

How is management perceived at Côte Restaurant?

Pros

Very supportive management who listen to and acknowledge employees grievances and work to solve these issues as effectively as possible.

Cons

Difficult to plan activities outside of work hours as the rota is released on short notice and often get called into work last minute.

Advice to Management

Continue to listen to employees to help make the workplace a friendly and relaxing environment and possibly try and release the rota sooner to the staff.

Are employees at Côte Restaurant generally happy and/or satisfied?

Pros

Good place to grow and acquire proper service skills, good training provided on wines, coffee, food testing. Excellent team spirit and informal atmosphere between colleagues, which lead to build friendship and strengthen team spirit. Good manager skills on the floor specially and good relationship between manager and employees.

Cons

Covering shift of last minute calling sick people, or last minute quiting people. The rota always given late is really a big downside, as it is hard to plan your personnal plan ahead for next week based on it. Also the rota is provided only for one week. Lack of respect from chefs and specially head chef in the kitchen with consideration for floor staff specially concerning staff food. humiliating and yell at the employee from someone (head chef) on top of the hierarchy shouldn't be tolerated.

What is the company culture like at Côte Restaurant?

Pros

Great team in the Glasgow branch and the company offers great benefits such as discounts and incentives.

Cons

The company expects a lot from its waiters but this is justified as they are paid very well for the industry.

Advice to Management

I believe the service charge (TRONC system) should be made public to any employee who would wish to see it rather than this being withheld from all members of staff.
