The decision-makers have been there for so long and run the district based on antiquated business models. The heads of departments do not embrace innovation or forward-progress. Only work here if you plan to contribute minimum work and you are not looking for real opportunity or career advancement within the district.

There was a lot of autonomy and for the most part some great peers and other teachers Effort to recruit and hire quality staff is apparent Teachers are respected members of the community and parents are responsive

The professionalism of the Central Office staff was often questionable Some administrators use aggressive tactics to gain compliance District is very far behind in the implementation of technology

Advice to Management

Management could certainly take more time and effort researching best practices in their industry. Problems are often solved in innovative ways and implementation of technology is more heavily relied upon in other model districts. Don't be afraid to emulate the best to become better!
