What is the retirement plan like at CareerBuilder?

Pros

Competitive pay, benefits, 401k plan Great People Fun Incentive Based Contests and Outings

Cons

There is a lot of change but it is all necessary for the success of the business long-term. Not everyone will make it but the people that do will benefit greatly.

Advice to Management

Continue to develop your people. CareerBuilder has developed thousands of people who have gone on to do great things both internally and externally. Those that are here and who have left lose sight of that FACT because of all the change and distractions that came with the acquisition but at the end of the day go do your research on former CareerBuilder employees and see what they have become professionally.

Does CareerBuilder offer a wellness program?

Pros

I was paid on time and my health insurance worked.

Cons

Thanks to Apollo, the bonus structure is a complete joke. All of the perks that compensated for our extremely low pay were snatched right before our eyes. They’ve done away with: Summer Hours (work 36 hrs/week, but Paid for 40 hrs) Wellness Reimbursement ($400/yr) Annual Trip (Mexico trip for top performers) Common decency Career Pathing ...and this is to just naming few things. Massive lay-offs were one of the very first major events to happen. I used to see our old CEO (Matt Ferguson) around the office occasionally. He never acknowledged me when he was on his high horse, but recently he’s all about “hellos” and smiles. So glad that he got a taste of humble pie.

Advice to Management

Please wake up. You can’t sail a ship without a crew. Offshoring our jobs to India won’t change a thing, you nincompoops.

How are senior leaders perceived at CareerBuilder?

Pros

Ability to work from home and great coworkers

Cons

Sadly, this company has no future. The CEO and president (Irina and Sasha) are so incompetent it is scary, they believe in rule by fear, have no vision for the future, and create a toxic company culture. The technology is inferior to other products in the market. The quotas are unrealistic. If you’re looking for a short-term job or want to watch a sinking ship in real-time, CB is for you. Everyone else should run away.

Advice to Management

You probably don’t care, however, CB is a failing organization. You’ll need to make drastic changes to fix it, including bringing in a new executive leadership team. Good luck.

What are some insights into the strategy or vision at CareerBuilder?

Pros

The best sales team ever before Apollo

Cons

There is no corporate strategy let alone product strategy.

Advice to Management

Senior management up to and including the new CPO - you do not understand how the products actually work; if you did, one would not get 10 different answers to a simple question about any one given product and clients would want your products. The massive customer churn and horrifying retention/renewal rate speaks for itself. Fix the Product Team, it is so dysfunctional due to petty, internal competition and politics and get a real strategy.
