Are employees at Cedar Fair generally happy and/or satisfied?

Pros

You will meet colleages and meet challenges with them. A natural way to form bonds for life. The environment is an amusement park and every day is an adventure. Flexible scheduling so long as you are not committed to a theatrical show. No prior experience is required.

Cons

It is difficult to explain just how disappointed I was when I reported safety concerns to supervisors and was summarily ignored. The pay is not what it should be, but overtime opportunities are abundant. As this is a theme park you are expected to present yourself in a manner that will make guests feel comfortable (no visible tattoos, unnatural hair color, or bodily piercings).

Advice to Management

California’s Great America is a theme park with a limited budget, understandably, however, ignoring safety concerns for employees is unforgivable. I can recount 3 seperate occasions I had brought up a concern to a supervisor and absolutely “nothing could be done”. It is not as though employees have not already parished on site and to think that there could be more makes me feel uneasy to go back as a guest. Find a way to anonymously give employees a voice to upper management.
