Does Epicor Software give time off to volunteer?

Pros

Great work/life balance - no really. Management emphasizes that doing your job well does not mean forfeiting your personal life. The focus is more on output and not the hours you spend at your desk. One paid day off a year to volunteer for a non-profit of your choice. Team-building events that are fun and laid-back. No micro-managing - you're given a goal and as much direction as you request, but you're given a lot of autonomy. Skip levels with the CAO (a woman - yes!) and regular 1x1s with your manager. The culture in the Accounting Department is strong! Culture Committee is open to new members and looking to engage and energize the corporate and global offices. The CFO is charismatic and seems to genuinely care about the accomplishments of every employee. He's been in the position less than a year, so I'm excited to see his impact.

Cons

Lack of accountability, groups work within silos with minimal communication with other groups, though management is working to change that. Lack of diversity. The culture office-wide is stale, but management and several employees seem to want that to change.

Advice to Management

Epicor has undergone a lot of change in the last several years - reach out to your tenured employees and ask them what they love and what opportunities for improvement they see. They have a lot of opinions, but may need to be encouraged to be a part of the change. Many of your tenured employees are amazing - knowledgeable, helpful and friendly, but some have become complacent and could hold back the positive changes you're making if not addressed.

Does Epicor Software offer unlimited holiday?

Pros

Approachable/nice employees with down to earth attitudes Global team Growing company Good bonus plan

Cons

Not flexible to WFH No free snacks/sodas/food No unlimited PTO No fun office No consistency across offices/regions

Advice to Management

If you're going to be a cloud company, you could at least TRY to act like you're in the Tech space --- % Remote work should be a part of the culture, not frowned upon. The in office culture should be vibrant, not stale & dry.

What is the retirement plan like at Epicor Software?

Pros

* Balance between life and work, it's not common to work after hours or weekends and we may choose our schedule: 7-16, 8-17, 9-18 * Nice people, most of them are not rude * Salary and benefits * No need to relocate to other side of the city each time * Training program * Stability, no worry to be fired * High performance computers, (lot of RAM and SSD) * Cheap food at lunch time * Enough parking place * Workplace in a central position, average traffic * Most of the times, we are not in rush with our work

Cons

* Retirement program could be far better (others contributes to our retirement savings along ours) * Few holidays compared to other companies (others offer 20 days from the first year) * Food could be cheaper * Bonus could be higher

Advice to Management

I believe it's not easy for you to find people, because there are not many skilled people who speaks English, but there are many who would speak if they have a good reason for it... there are many companies that don't need conversational English people (they just need people who read and write in English), maybe you could offer a some kind of English intensive program for candidates (with a good price), and if in a couple of months they reach enough conversational level, you may hire them I think your hire process could take long, maybe months, so you could leverage that time to reconsider candidates

Does Epicor Software offer parental leave?

Pros

They are great with getting their employees up to speed and earning the lucrative utilization bonus. Remote options that are very supportive.

Cons

The benefits are okay, paternity leave is only 1 week. The particular team I was on, DocStar, is somewhat of an after thought in the organization.

How are senior leaders perceived at Epicor Software?

Pros

Great culture, fantastic leadership team who are accessible and helpful, employee engagement, reliable products with unique positioning, emphasis on customer value, integrity and work ethic.

Cons

Cannot really think of anything, the company is in growth mode which comes with its own challenges.

Advice to Management

Keep the one family culture, it makes all the difference.
