What is health insurance like at Eze Software?

Pros

Good medical insurance Good benefits Unlimited snacks Beer time on Friday

Cons

SS&C tried to cut costs in every possible way. Laying off people of good talents and shifting jobs to somewhere else are never a good idea in terms of company growth and product quality

Advice to Management

Don't sacrifice product quality in return for a good looking balance sheet.

What is the retirement plan like at Eze Software?

Pros

Since the company has recently been sold you should wait and see how this changes but the benefits were excellent. Very competitive insurance costs, stellar 401(k) match (40%), and decent amounts of vacation for experienced employees. Some managers really care about their teams. You can make the jobs on the client facing side look really good on a resume so if you need to take a job here that's fine. Just suck it up for a year and then use it to find something better.

Cons

Work Life Balance nonexistent, client base is a nightmare to work with (verbally abusive, hostile, etc), career path becomes a dead end after a few years, transferrable skills gained are few, senior management is ludicrously out of touch with reality and therefore terrible decisions are routine and goals are impossible to hit. Raises are designed to roughly keep pace with inflation unless you can get promoted which is entirely tenure based unless you either are terrible at your job or a rock star (like bottom 10% or top 5% of the company and then maybe you'll get promoted 6 months late/ahead of schedule). They will claim this tenure schedule doesn't exist but just ask everyone who gets promoted when they started at Eze and you realize promotions are every 18-24 months for the junior/mid/senior individual contributor jobs.

Advice to Management

Pointless, all the Execs that would have known what to do with any advice (except for 1 who I'm sure will be forced out in the next year) are gone.

Does Eze Software offer parental leave?

Pros

Co. takes well being of employee. Transport facility Good health and group insurance. Equities stock options (post acquisition by SS&C) Meal vouchers and snacks options Good infrastructure Good learning opportunity. Night shift allowance. Good HR process. No lay off (during covid) Bonus 1 week leave and 30k incentive for marriage. 10 working days paternity leave.

Cons

CS vertical management is utmost poor. Director treats himself like king of the world (master of none as they dont know the basics of the product) No self evaluation and checks on facts + figure, appraisal and benefits are given to favourite employee. They break confidence and morale of employee. Issue's at management level, there would be no transparency about the growth map of team and individual.

How are the career development opportunities at Eze Software?

Pros

Some incredible people work at Eze despite the job’s abusive nature.

Cons

SS&C and Eze have created a toxic workplace culture. New hires are often paid more than more experienced members of their teams creating tension throughout the organization. Promotions are not based on merit, but personal relationships. 1% raises are reserved only for members of teams that illegally work overtime without overtime pay. Horror stories exist across the department of people sleeping at the office in order to achieve client expectations for no additional compensation in either pay or time off. Members of the community actively do not attend diversity and inclusion meetings in support of their coworkers. The perpetual drinking culture is uncomfortable and similar to a fraternity in that it can be acceptable to drink during the workday and work-week while engaging with clients. People from the department regularly seek psychological therapy from the abuse of clients while managers defend client behavior. Lastly in the event that you do obtain a promotion you receive the same salary with increased responsibilities. There is absolutely no reason to begin your career at a company that will not invest in your growth as an individual or professional.

Advice to Management

Things need to change dramatically including compensation and culture before the ship can be righted.
