How was the interview at Fractal?

Pros

Great exposure to AI/ML engagements

Cons

It was a harrowing and a disparaging experience due to highly unprofessional behavior showcased by the talent acquisition team and the HLS business team. Here is the chain of events (evidence available to anyone who is interested): 1. Multiple interviews happen and an offer is released where the designation mentioned in the offer letter is different from what was discussed right from the beginning to the last phone call just before the offer was made (recording available) 2. I took some time to process the new information but since the CTC and the role aligned with my expectations, I decided to go ahead. 3. When I go back with my acceptance, a new HR poc comes to the scene and tells me that she will talk to the business team. Next thing I get to hear is that the Business team wants to have a quick discussion for aligning on role expectations which made sense but what happens next was surprising since the discussion turns out to be an interview. 4. It doesnt end here, I am told by the HR that my selection is already done but one more discussion will be set up to give me role clarity since the previous one was an interview. But what actually happens is that a person who was an ex-employee from my current company (& my current team) starts asking me interview questions (and starts stroking his ego by talking about his technical/AIML experience) in a meeting where I was expecting answers around the role/responsibility -- And this just turns into a very awkward discussion. I knew the outcome but still I followed up with the HR to hear her go back on all earlier conversations to which she hesitated and said that she will talk to the hiring director to set up another call. Everything said above is backed by evidence (Whatsapp chats/calls).

Advice to Management

I wanted to join the company because I heard good things about the CEO and the work that company does. But the part of the team I was in touch with is definitely incompetent with below par "value" and "behavior" traits. The rest of the team might be great but this was a harrowing and disturbing experience.

What is the hiring process like at Fractal?

Pros

Honestly nothing. It has literally become a company run by few nincompoops who can literally get away with non-performance or unprofessional/arrogant behavior.

Cons

1. Promotion process is a joke 1a) A person who has not managed a revenue of more than $2M during his entire tenure at Fractal gets promoted to a Client Partner(target ~ $10M to $15M) 1b) A person who openly plagiarizes content gets promoted to a Client Partner inspite of multiple HR escalations against his behavior Because of these examples and such behavior being rewarded, focus has moved from actually working hard and proving yourself to get promoted to buttering up to management... 2. Enabling functions should be renamed to Disabling functions 2a)Hiring team needs a special mention. We have lost the count of the amount of revenue lost by these folks without being held accountable. The sales and consulting team struggle to get new leads only to be lost because the hiring team is unable to staff them. Who gets penalized..."Sales and Consulting team"..."Hiring team go scot free only to continue on their merry way of losing more revenue...they literally have no skin in the game"... 2b) If someone bets a rupee on how many times HR team will miss a deadline, he or she would definitely have been a millionaire by now. A team who should be employee centric is exactly the opposite. HRs will only reply to emails from Client Partner or above. Rest of the ememployees have to follow up atleast 5-7 times and if you are lucky you may get a cryptic one word/one liner reply 2c) Folks who have no experience in HR or People Management are part of the HR team

Advice to Management

Acknowledge that a problem exists then only you will be try to solve the problem. Listen and act on the feedback provided by the tenured Fractalites who are leaving
