What is it like working with clients or customers at Freshworks?

Pros

The product is good overall and clients are happy with it for the most part. People are nice and will help when you need them. Company is headed in the right direction and growing fast. Learn a lot about mid market sales process.

Cons

Management is very numbers and tasks driven and don’t care much about employee happiness. They said that they don’t want to promote any sales development reps for some reason, so you get stuck in the same role. They also micro manage you with the time you arrive to work and leave, so you get yelled at for being late. Long commute to san Mateo and they don’t allow for work from home... Benefits aren’t that great and you can get better base pay at other tech companies.

Does Freshworks provide leads to sales teams?

Pros

Fantastic product and their competitors should be very worried because if they execute on the product roadmap this will certainly turn peoples heads. They have some amazing logos and have stolen those from competitors which just goes to show some of the amazing things they are doing.

Cons

The job is pretty easy to get, but that means your surrounded by people that don't bring much to the table and it makes you question your own career choices. It's quite a immature sales environment whereby apart from the VP nobody has a huge deal of SAAS sales experience especially if you were looking to lean on people as a mentor. The deals that have been closed have all been from inbound leads and you'll find its only 'certain' people that receive those leads. There are certain individuals who have a huge impact on the office and if you are not friends with them it clouds judgement and therefore creates a huge divide in the office for e.g. they have some of the sales team split into different rooms. The on-boarding process is so broken you join and are expected to sit and read material until you go to India (which is a great trip) and then have to go build your own pipeline straight from the off so be prepared to do nothing but cold calling and emailing.

Advice to Management

Continue the journey with the products it's amazing - Put processes to allow people to succeed - Get managers in that actually know how to manage and not just there because they joined the company early.
