Does GE Power offer bonus pay?

Pros

Best experience with FEP training in NY, working with different FE's around the US, Deferred over time, OT back then was time and a half (Saturday) with DT on Sunday although capped. Worked a lot of hours but the experience and networking with utilities and co workers was second to none

Cons

Lots of time away from home (200-300+ days was common); while it changed eventually, bonus pay was in hands of service managers who could have the ability to mismanage. Constant senior management turnover; Everytime a change was made to cut cost was made, it seemed to come at the expense of field engineers. Atlanta closed almost every service center to the astonishment of utility customers with no real long term plan on repairs other than sending parts to third parties or far away from customer sites. Was not a lot of respect from SLT as it seemed like Atlanta felt FE's were expendable and anybody could be a FE with work procedures.

Advice to Management

I left before GE Power became FieldCore. Respect the FE's as they are the backbone of your company. FES, Parts, and Repairs are the backbone of this organization. GE can and will re-emerge as a great company....however, let this be a lesson to every company, entrepreneur, et al. It takes dozens of years to build a great company and reputation, it only takes a little while to destroy a reputation.

Compliance & safety always 1st priority before achieving any goal. Every one empowered to raise the concern. Open culture & Flexible time at work place.

Cons

Frequent change in day to day work. Need better synchronization in terms of policy with local and global level.
