What is health insurance like at GQR Global Markets?

Pros

Remote work environment that encourages collaboration with your teammates. Working with experienced SME and A players at every stage of the game. Everyone has the same objective, to support and foster their own and their coworker's learning and professional development while receiving uncapped commissions.

Cons

Staffing requires long hours and GQR is no exception. You must put in the work to receive the benefits. Their health insurance is really expensive for a family.

Does GQR Global Markets offer unlimited holiday?

Pros

- Good Colleagues, some friendly people in the office. - If you get past quarterly threshold earning, commission is at 30%. - Good for personality types that are great talkers and don't mind repetition

Cons

-Fake reviews Reviews are written by/for internal talent acquisition. -Low base wage. Including the unpaid "voluntary" overtime, you will be receiving around £8.80 an hour, and will be working a minimum of 11 hours a day. There are plenty of agencies that pay more if you look hard enough. In contrast, many of the senior staff (2+ years) leave on time. -Unrealistic company presentation. Unrealistic expectations. They're not outright lying, a couple of people do make buckets of money. But the vast majority in the office don't make nearly as much as they have you believe. Some senior staff (2+years) dont even exceed the commission threshhold. -Questionable commission structure You will owe GQR £20,000 every financial quarter and cannot make money until you exceed these earnings. That means if you bill 19,000, but no more by the end of a quarter, you will make no money. You will owe them £10,000 by the end of the training programme. For every hour you spend in the office you are around £28 further in debt. - Weirdly Cult-y Every Friday you get together and clap in unison to music in-front of a powerpoint presentation.

Advice to Management

Modernise your approach to work and workers. Drop the infallible attitude. Turnover is high and you cannot retain staff, regardless of tenure. Be accountable for this.

What is the retirement plan like at GQR Global Markets?

Pros

GQR is not for the faint of heart. If you’re looking for an easy 9-5, clock in/clock out and get a mediocre salary this is not the place for you. If you’re driven and motivated by the opportunity to grow and develop as an individual, collaborate with some of the most talented individuals in the business and achieve high compensation along the way then keep reading! Anyone in the staffing industry knows that it’s not easy and it’s not 40-hours/week. For those who are realistic about the expectations of being in this industry there is an abundance of knowledge and opportunity to gain by working at GQR. We are continuously supported and pushed to develop more, learn more and achieve more. You will be pushed outside of your comfort zone but that’s the only way to grow! Expectations are high and you are held accountable for your quotas and goals, but the reward is just as high. The commission structure is top in the industry and the base salaries are more than fair. They’ve worked to improve flexibility and work/life balance by offering a hybrid remote schedule for those local to offices and flex PTO. Bottom line: if you like to work hard, collaborate with others, challenge yourself to be better, and are motivated by success you would be foolish to let GQR pass you by.

Does GQR Global Markets offer relocation assistance?

Pros

GQR is a place where you have the autonomy to grow out your own business. After working there for two years, I can say honestly that I wouldn't change this experience for the world - the skills, sales acumen, and experiences I learned from I will never forget. From day one, you come in and there is a lot expected from you, which can be challenging to some people - however, if you're excited about the ability to run your own 360 desk then you're in luck. The culture of the firm is changing in a positive direction - they have added brand new L&D options, and an extensive training program that wasn't there when I began. The Austin office in particular has been known to have the best culture out of all the offices. This place is not for the faint of heart, but it is for the more financially driven people of the recruitment world (GQR has the best comp rate in the industry) - although this doesn't come without a price. They are still a start up, and anyone who joins needs to understand that that means constant changes and a rough decision making process. BEAUTIFUL new office in downtown Austin - pool table, top shelf coffee, food, etc.

Cons

- long hours as previously mentioned - but getting better - It's all about billing at the end of the day - and they have high standards (good and bad) - You don't have the opportunity to select your industry - Office politics - average benefits package (but I hear it's changing for the better!) - challenging CEO (this is both a pro and a con, he will challenge you to change your way of thinking, but if you don't have thick skin, people can be offended)

Advice to Management

The world is changing and so are employees. Be sure to keep up with the trends, and don't get left behind.

Does GQR Global Markets assist with or provide work transportation?

Pros

-Lots of room for growth and autonomy + taking charge of your career is encouraged -Strong learning & continued development investment -A lot of strong performance, encouragement from peers and high-performing culture of success together -Actually though, everyone's numbers, wow -Flexible remote and WFH opportunities -Paid company trips

Cons

-Still always some growing pains -If you want a comfortable job as a recruiter where you don't actually have to do much, definitely not the job for you

Advice to Management

Continue evolving as your company gets larger. What worked for a select few at the beginning is not going to work for the organization as it stands now, and certainly not for how it's going to be in a year or more. Done a good job so far but never stop adapting.
