Pros

Emphasis on diversity and inclusion, decent perks in terms of health insurance and PTO, good employee discount rates, most holidays off, good reputation as a company.

Cons

They're getting better but don't offer big rewards for tenure like other companies. Right now budgets are tight due to the pandemic. Diversity tends to fade out at director level and above.

Advice to Management

Rethink the requirement to work in a shared office space for 8 hours a day. Remote work during the pandemic proves we can be productive with flexible schedules and locations.

Pros

All the workers from all departments are nice, benefits

Cons

Higher management is lazy, don’t care for their staff, refuse to pay sick leave, reports of workplace bullying doesn’t get acknowledged, make you sign a form to never receive overtime and if you don’t sign, they won’t roster you. Pay is also bad

Advice to Management

Senior management needs to stop being lazy and do their share of work

Pros

Decent benefits, good diversity, talk a good game about their culture and values... and about the value of their "team members".

Cons

The company has consistently failed to plan ahead for the next downturn / next crisis (ie: the pandemic). So, when the economy hit a pandemic-sized iceberg, their first reaction was to jettison a large amount of staff who had stuck with the company through pay freezes, pay reductions, furloughs, repeated reorganisations , etc. Staff gave Hilton their loyalty but, despite Hilton's rhetoric, that loyalty was a one-way street.

Advice to Management

Think ahead beyond the next quarter's earnings call. As someone who was laid-off / made redundant in 2020, it felt like Hilton used the pandemic as an excuse to cut payroll they had already decided they wanted to cut.

Decent benefits, good diversity, talk a good game about their culture and values... and about the value of their "team members".
