How are senior leaders perceived at Hilton?

Pros

Generally good work life balance, and a good culture for the most part. They have put effort into creating good working environments so most countries have pretty good offices.

Cons

Very toxic senior leadership, and generally very top down approach of management, especially when it comes to performance management and career progression with very unclear criteria for performance and progression. Some people therefore end up focusing on managing up, at the expense of collaboration with their peers.

Advice to Management

Please implement better performance management process that includes 360 reviews for all levels, including the most senior leaders in the organization as well, and deal with senior leaders who are clearly not respected by their teams. There are some with very long tenures who seem to be untouchable. Whilst the company talks about importance of diversity, there is still a strong bias towards Caucasian males even in Asia. Company needs to accept this fact and take action.
