How are the career development opportunities at Indigo Books & Music?

Pros

1) You get to work with Books 2) There are some awesome people at ground level

Cons

There's very little room for advancement Very little guidance as to the actual responsibilities of any position besides management They promoted from within two times in the nearly five years I worked there and both individuals were very controversial choices. I was criticized for my poor mental health which included being told I was a danger to the people around me despite this being patently untrue. They pay as close to minimum wage as possible.

it is a Canadian icon and it is going to look good on your resume

Cons

Lack of true leadership people are given large responsibilities in this organization with minimum relevant qualifications No appetite for change and doing things efficiently Very high turnover Not valuing people Too much politics fly around Not about what do you, rather who you know Promotions are not reflective of individuals performance
