How is management perceived at Lush?

Pros

Fantastic products, and company has heart in right place. Worked for Lush internationally and found your mileage will vary Lush UK and Australia are brilliant. Lush MENA is a disater. Ethics of the company are key in the more established markets, but total cowboys in developing regions. You name it, I saw it. Tax evasion, racism, fraud, embezzlement. No internal HR structure to speak of people are hired on how fun they are at manager meetings, no competency required. Anita Baker, Director of Lush Middle East couldn't run a piss-up in a brewery, totally in over her head and threatened by anyone even mildly competent. Has driven huge talent away from the business, and lost the company hundreds and thousands in poor management. Zero over site, zero accountability.

Cons

No formal HR structure or oversite to keep middle and upper management accountable, everything is run on a handshake and hope.

Advice to Management

Hire competent people, and have someone do a deep audit of MENA and South America offices - there be dragons

No formal HR structure or oversite to keep middle and upper management accountable, everything is run on a handshake and hope.
