What are working conditions like at Lush?

Pros

Lots of creative opportunities, great people and a casual creative workspace. There's always new creative changes in the company. A majority of people at Lush have been brilliant, even the director level and founders are approachable good people that really care about what they do. A large company like this that has values can often be accused of greenwashing or using ethics for marketing; but from the inside I can see that everyone here genuinely believes in doing good and making the world a better place.

Cons

Along with being a creative company can come disorganisation and faff in every project. There has also been a lack of expertise at time as the 'brand' side of the company has chosen to prioritise hiring generalists over specialists; although giving creatives from shops other opportunities is honestly brilliant training and guidance for skilled work would have saved heart ache for a lot staff that ended up not finding there place working at Lush and eventually loosing there jobs in reorganisation.

Lots of creative opportunities, great people and a casual creative workspace.

What is overtime like at Lush?

Pros

Salary is alright, and you can get a terrific bonus. I met some great people. Some products are fun to make. Learn to work in a team. You have 1 hour paid break and possible overtime. It felt more like a hobby than work. If the management were better and not so secretive, I would give it 5 stars. Some free products and cheap Christmas packages. I would gladly go back. At the digital you can learn how online shop works.

Cons

Some targets are unrealistic for example, double pressing. Team leaders are over-motivated and sometimes snap at you for talking. It can get really repetitive especially at the twilight shift. Rivality between teams and shifts. Do not tell you in advance when you are getting fired. You can develop allergies very quickly. Some people get special treatment. I've heard ballistics is hell.

Advice to Management

Bunch of monkeys can manage some departments. Better organization and security. There should be better communication between departments. You should be more aware of what kind of things are the employees spreading about the company. Employ people who actually like the products.
