Fun environment to be work in. It feels as if you are working with your siblings all day. Nike offers good benefits such as 401k, health insurance, and 15% off stocks to purchase. You also accumulate paid time off.

Weekend shift should not be a skeleton crew. It amuses me how the shifts putting out the best numbers get the least recognition.

What is the retirement plan like at NIKE?

Pros

There are a lot of perks to working with Nike: discount at Nike/Converse/Hurley, insurance, quarterly bonuses if store goals are met, staff dress, 401k match, employee stock purchase program. Pay rate is good when you get up to the coach level and higher. I worked with a lot of great people that made the job fun despite it being a retail job.

Cons

The brand and company is really good; the factory store side, not ss much. I worked in their biggest volume market and it was obvious that they only cared that we made money. Compared to the Nike Stores, we never received any fun activities or events. Work/Life balance is almost non-existent when your shifts are anywhere between 5am-12am; you get 1 weekend off a month, and you're lucky if you can get a holiday off.

Advice to Management

You guys talk a lot about coaching and developing the athletes but spend very little time developing the managers for promotions and hire too many external candidates that usually can't handle the volume. Focus more on the talent you have already and help people make the more from retail to corporate. It would be nice if we were able to do team bonding, but with the crazy retail hours that's almost impossible.
