What is health insurance like at OEConnection?

Pros

This category has to have something. The only real pros are you get a paycheck and health insurance if you work there. There are some great people who work here, that really care about the company, but OEC upper management eventually drives them away with the poor decision making or lack of decision making.

Cons

OEC used to be a good place to work. Once private equity took over they started squeezing every dollar until boogers come from Washington's nose. Very poorly run upper management that is completely disconnected. Pay was lowered dramatically, positions posted in US with very low pay, then when it can't be filled(because of low pay) they move the job overseas. Lots of layoffs, and turnover as there has been a mass exodus in the last year. They went from 4 weeks of PTO standard down to 2 in the US. When you have tons of turnover in HR you know things are really bad. Culture used to be very important when it wasn't owned by private equity. As soon as they bought it that went completely out the window along with moral, and motivation to do a good job.

Advice to Management

What's the point? They won't listen.

The only real pros are you get a paycheck and health insurance if you work there.

Does OEConnection offer unlimited holiday?

Pros

Good work balance with unlimited PTO and flexible work days

Cons

Training is 2 months and is a series of videos you must watch 8 hours per day and then excepted to a demo the next day on a software program with many variables. They provide no real help with training except videos and a few online sessions. Unless you know this companies' products and services, they set you up for failure. When you ask management for help they are to busy with their work and expect you to go through the encyclopedia of information they have to find an answer.

Advice to Management

If you want a Tech Support guy that knows how to run complicated software, then you should not put in your job posting anything about needing a salesperson. When someone asks for help with your complicated training have people available to help

How are the career development opportunities at OEConnection?

Pros

great teams (Below management), flexible working

Cons

Poor pay, do not value staff (Some of which have been with the company 15+ years), limited vision, outdated applications, no willingness to invest in current staff, no career progression

Advice to Management

My advice would be for management to better understand what their staff do. Listen to them and stop treating them like a number. Staff should be treated as a company's greatest assets. This couldn't be further from the truth at OEC. We are instead treated as a cost, ignored, and treated so poorly the staff turnaround is a joke! The company only ever looks at short term gains at the cost of customer satisfaction and long term potential. The upper management behave much like children, desperate to get their hands on the next shiny toy, forgetting about all the other applications sustaining them. If only the management had the vision and ability to listen to the people working directly with the customers. The people day in day out looking to progress and maintain OEC's future, they would become a true market leader. As it stands, they are lagging further and further behind.
