What is the feeling of job security at R+L Global Logistics?

Pros

There were some nice co-workers.

Cons

At the time I resigned, the company had very few resources for the international team. However, because the parent company had been serving domestic trucking for over 50 years, domestic resources were plentiful. International was supposed to perform like domestic, but with virtually no real tools. Also, in theory partnership between international and domestic divisions was encouraged, but never seemed to work out. PTO benefits were slim, and health insurance was merely an opportunity to participate in a group rate, with no employer contribution.

Advice to Management

Do not expect international team to function like domestic team.

How is management perceived at R+L Global Logistics?

Pros

This is not your typical sales job. I started this job last October, and let me tell you; it’s been such a great experience. I’ve worked for 2 other 3rd Party Logistics companies when I was in Tampa. As good as those jobs were they don’t compare to the culture that RL Global has. I was at 1st reluctant about the job, especially coming from a support background to sales. Like I stated this isn’t the typical sales job. You don’t have a manager or supervisor watching over your every move. It’s great job autonomy, you have guidance here and there but you get to determine your overall success. What I especially like is the overall team work that goes on between the Sales Account Executives (the people getting the customers) and the Carrier Sales Team; which are (the people working with the trucking companies to get coverage to secure and cover the shipments). Overall it’s been a humbling experience. I highly recommend this company to everyone who is seeking to be apart of a growing industry and company.

Cons

The only con here is that like I stated this isn’t your typical sales job. You have to work for it, but there is a team behind you who will help you succeed as much as you want to.

You don’t have a manager or supervisor watching over your every move.

What is the company culture like at R+L Global Logistics?

Pros

This company is growing and advancement opportunities are arising left and right. The managers want employees to succeed and grow. If you put in the work and take the initiative to move up they will recognize that and you will work your way up the corporate ladder. I was able to get promoted twice in my time at RL by putting in the work and seeking the opportunity to grow and pursuing them. The culture is pretty fun and everyone gets along for the most part. There is a wide range of individuals from fresh college graduates to folks who have been in the industry for years. In regards to the HR team and the recruiting role, it is great. The managers within the HR department do a great job at developing their team and you are always busy. The team seems to operate with a work hard play hard mind set. I would recommend this job to any fellow recruiter. It is a great team to work with backed by great managers.

Cons

Not sure if this is a pro or con, I guess it depends on the person, but they do not allow you to work from home generally.

Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing

The culture is pretty fun and everyone gets along for the most part.
