How are the career development opportunities at STL - Sterlite Technologies Limited?

Pros

- An excellent learning environment with great responsibilities on your shoulder - A lot of opportunities to grow and thrive. - Young crowds mostly from IIMs and IITs which helps you learn even more

Cons

- Culture is still not great and you might find some lack of fairness in the appraisal - Learning might stop after a few years so it's better to switch - The company often transfer you to a different role which might leave with an expert in no particular field

Advice to Management

Although Sterlite is improving in almost all the domains, it would be great if you can make it an even fairer company and better pay scale than the average company. SInce Sterlite showcased themselves among world best in Telcom product and Services and similar payscale is expected out of this statement/fact

Why do STL - Sterlite Technologies Limited employees quit?

Pros

Writing this for Elitecore technologies- software division of Sterlite. At Ahmedabad level it is very good option if someone is looking for some 200+ employee organization. You will get change to work with almost all project life cycle phases. Can change team if you wish. Good amount of leaves. Some of the salary component are tax saving. If you are enough capable can gain more knowledge and take assignments that can grow you better technically and as well in telecom domain.

Cons

No leaves during notice period. No cab for late night working. No process is fully transparent. HR process is very slow. Partiality in some teams exists. Some products are being prepared without proper solution design technically. Some old senior level persons are still there who does not have that much knowledge but they are there as they started from scratch. If you are doing more and capable more and more work will be assigned to you but at time of appraisal that will not be in consideration that much, some favoritism exists in some teams. New techleads are getting hired but existing eligible employees are not getting promoted.

Advice to Management

Some of the decisions are not in favor of company health like hiring of NIT graduates using higher package due to that created bad impact on mindset of old employees of the company. Retention policy for every employee of the sterlite should be same. At time of retention whole team anonymous reviews should be taken rather than just manager. Start taking anonymous reviews of managers and higher level management as well. Remove exams at time of promotions, if employee is still working in Sterlite that means he/she is delivering output, then why to re-examine him/her.
