Does JioSaavn offer unlimited holiday?
Pros
The workload is less most of the time
Cons
It is a dying company. Can't handle salary increments for their employees and the founding team has no clue where the company is heading. Work quality is bad as mid-level engineers are leaving the company and the work is being done by entry-level engineers who are just comming out of college. Wouldn't recommend to join

What kind of career opportunities exist at JioSaavn?
Pros
- Good tech stack and the engineers work really hard to keep systems stable and up to date - Massive opportunity to learn and experiment with new tech. There is no hard and fast rule about following a particular software principle. Engineers have the flexibility of making their own decisions, discussing with the team, and presenting their work to a wider audience, which is encouraged.
Cons
- Product roadmap is haphazard. The core product team is talented and hard working, but are focused heavily on introducing new features and forgetting the old ones. Many of the feature updates don't make sense and are just a burden on everyone involved. - Financial discipline is close to 0. Despite being under Jio, there is no financial discipline and regulations are a black box. The company doesn't entertain the employee's say in stocks, salary, appraisals, bonuses. The appraisal cycle starts in June, but by the time you get the new salaries, it's already October/November. The pandemic appraisal has been a joke. The last one was in 2019 and the most recent one was in June 2021. The management had left everyone on tenterhooks with no light at the end of the tunnel. In other words, clueless. Quite literally. Due to these reasons the attrition rate has been extremely high the past 6 months and still hasn't dropped. Every week we hear people leaving across the board. Final words: It definitely is a great place to learn, and the freedom offered is limitless, but as of now I don't think people should look forward to working more than 2-3 years with JioSaavn primarily from a growth perspective.
Advice to Management
Please re-think your growth strategy. You've employed so many good people, please stop treating them like resources and try to get some more efficient, meaningful work done. With every new useless feature rolled out, we incur a debt to the existing infrastructure that people have worked so hard to build. Recognise that people are burnt out, and slow down.
