Does there seem to be diversity at Shiv Nadar University?
Pros
You can consider this organisation if you are looking for a dynamic learning experience. Organisation deals with a diverse range of segments like sports, education, environment, etc.
Cons
Prospective employees should be aware of the stringent HR policies, including being questioned about their grade 10th and 12th marks, even for experienced professionals with a solid portfolio. (Such an inquiry seems illogical for an individual with 5+ years of experience). • The 12-month probation period also favors the company, as they can dismiss an employee without reason or compensation during this time. On the other hand, an employee resigning even within a month of joining requires a 3-month notice period. • A meager 1.5 leaves per month with no separate provision for casual or sick leave and no birthday leave are additional drawbacks. • The company has a culture of poor work-life balance, as working on weekends and during leaves is common. • No Compensatory Off if you have worked over the weekend. •No IT induction •No financial induction •Frequent use of buzzwords like Diversity & Inclusion. Didn’t receive any induction on the POSH act or other policies aimed at protecting employees and fostering a diverse workplace. Concerns and conversations around work-life balance are dismissed, which also shows a lack of commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace.
Advice to Management
1. Consider the impact of HR policies on employee morale, engagement, and retention. 2. CLEARLY COMMUNICATE HR Policies and work environment to prospective employees during the hiring process (before they have resigned from their organization) to avoid any surprises and reduce the risk of employees leaving after joining. 3. Foster a culture of trust by recognizing that when an employee says they are UNWELL, they should be taken at their word and given the appropriate support. 4. Consider implementing a flexible work schedule and offering a comprehensive leave policy that supports employee well-being. 5. A diverse and inclusive work environment includes work life balance, so stop glorifying and normalizing ‘’Survival Mode’’ work culture.
life balance are dismissed, which also shows a lack of commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace.
