What is overtime like at WhatCulture?

Pros

Remote working You pick the video you wish to work on/what channel to work on The presenters are communicative if there are issues with their voice over

Cons

Pay is rather low for the content you are creating (minimum ten minutes video length, you must cut footage every 7 seconds max) and the pay per video was recently dropped from 150 to 125 pounds Creatively is rather limited unless you enjoy doing keyframe animations with png images Editors are expected to spend extra time going through the voice over removing bad takes (on average, 40% of the voice over is just the presenter messing up). This may sound odd as the job is "editor" but this clearly shows how freelance editors are viewed.

Advice to Management

Change you video making rules, you're limiting the creativity of your editors. Lists very quickly become machine work and it beats the creative drive out your freelance workers.
