How are senior leaders perceived at Wooga?

Pros

- Very committed, humane and approachable CEO - Constantly attracts great people, having them as colleagues makes it an amazing place to work - On the contrary to what other review might state, you DO get rewarded for hard work - Awesome office with great facilities, lunches, drinks, workshops and sports-activities - Working here feels like being part of a family - Live in Berlin!

Cons

After a pretty huge mistake of giving the wrong people the responsibility of restructuring the entire Marketing and Operations teams, and another restructuring to make up for this, Wooga is back and shooting for the stars once again. Morale is still recovering from these turbulent times though, which can still be felt in the office.

Advice to Management

Double down on success, remember the past mistakes of over-commitment but don't be afraid to be invest aggressively when the opportunities are there.

What kind of career opportunities exist at Wooga?

Pros

For the first time in a long time, I think the company energy and motivation are increasing as there is some real belief in the success of our live and upcoming projects. Even when this wasn't really the case, I still had great support and opportunities to grow professionally. Every manager I have had has cared about developing me and making sure I am happy here. Other pros: - Educational allowance is much higher than other companies that offer it in Berlin - International workplace - Great learning opportunities, we have speakers come all the time to talk about industry stuff, but also general topics (we had a meditation coach come recently) - Yoga in the office, fridge full of fresh fruits and veggies, nice beer selection ;) - our office is undeniably impressive - it's bright, colorful, and has not one but two roof terraces. you can tell a lot of love was put into designing this place. Also the location is great, it's easy to reach by public transport and there are a lot of closeby restaurants and bars to visit for lunch or an after-work drink.

Cons

This could be seen by some as a negative, but Wooga is a fast-changing environment and it can be really challenging to keep up. It at times can be really uncomfortable and frustrating when projects get cancelled or the company strategy is unclear or in a state of change. However, when embraced, I've found it to usually be a great personal development opportunity, esp. if you want to continue in this industry or in the greater berlin start-up scene.

What is the feeling of job security at Wooga?

Pros

- Free food - Minority friendly - Good work/life balance - Amazing work environment with amazing people - Cool projects - Since last restructure, it looks like this one is going to be long term

Cons

When I joined, it was quite hard to list Cons about Wooga. - After the second layoffs, employees have constant fear of getting fired - Company is constantly restructuring and switching focus - Employees could be used more to their full potential - No financial incentives besides the salary. No Christmas bonus or Profits bonus.

Advice to Management

Trust your employees more. They are talented, well trained and full of wonderful ideas. Also, focus is the key! Don't switch it just because you failed once. Go for the ship fast-fail fast philosophy. Spend less time on pre-launch and more time on post launch. You will be surprised on the success you might find. Also, work on proper financial rewards.
