      District Manager Total Source Interview

      23 Jan 2011
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

The process took 1 day. I interviewed at ADP in Jan 2011

      Interview

With over 10 years of precise industry experience combined with excellent references I was extremely qualified for the position to which I applied. A recruiter called and ran through a sampling of standard interviewing questions, clearly not all that well versed with the industry and/or products this position would represent. She was concerned about my GPA more than anything else. This led me to believe they are looking for entry level junior sales individuals. She immediately indicated my enterprise experience would lend itself nicely to another division of the company and would send my resume and qualifications to the other recruitment team. I was then provided a link to a 30 minute online assessment. Needless to say, the recruiter did not listen to what I was interested in doing for the company, I did not take the assessment nor was I interested in working with the other business unit. Do they seriously have so many openings they need to outsource the recruitment process to uninformed screeners? Recruitment in this case is not helping the company with acquisition of top talent.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

All standard questions about everything that is already on your resume. They spend 10 minutes maybe 15 minutes max on the pre screening questions.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at ADP

      Interview

Three rounds expected - could be more. Interviews progressed to determine what business unit/team to place me on during the later rounds. General knowledge of how different business models function and foundational concepts, including understanding profit margins, net vs. gross sales, and business liability are a must.

      Question 1

How would you start a sales conversation with a business owner if you only have 60 seconds?
