Having initially applied for a specific Product Manager position, I was contacted for a different position that also suited my skills. I was in contact with HR who arranged an initial interview over Skype. The pair that interviewed me were very friendly and put forward a good but challenging view of life at ABOUTYOU. This interview consisted mainly of general questions around my background and explaining more about the particular role and their positions within that team.

I was invited back for a second interview with the same people where we went more in-depth as to particular skills and aspects related to the job, as well as how I would go about implementing certain features or handling certain situations/scenarios.

Following this interview, I was put forward for a phone interview with the CTO which was quite brief and consisted of going over again my skills and experience to date.

Unfortunately, I wasn't offered the role of Product Manager in this particular situation. However, even more unfortunate, I wasn't given any feedback as to the reasoning behind this decision which would have been quite beneficial for my continued job search and I think is to be expected considering how much time I also invested in three interviews for the particular role.

Apart from this, I found the recruitment experience with ABOUTYOU to be very pleasant and the people I spoke to painted a very positive and realistic picture of the job/company.

A total of 3 days of interviews took place.

Day 1: One technical interview with lots of technical questions regarding the technologies used.
Day 2: One technical interview which is the sequel of the previous one with another set of technical questions. There also was a cultural fit interview with a set of scenario questions and reaction related questions.
Day 3: One motivational interview with the CTO.

No trivial javascript/css/html questions which is nice.
No "build a react app that satisfy these requirements" challenge which is refreshing.
Most technical questions focus on "how would you solve this hypothetical problem" with high level reasoning. You won't fail it simply because you don't know a particular framework/library

The interview process very easy and smooth, The first interview was a tech interview, we talked about php, laravel, oop, design patterns used in laravel , IOC, DependencyInjection, Service Providers and how it works, I recived a good feedback about my first interivew, Then the second interview was with another Tech Leader there we talked about my experince and what fields I'm intrested in, Then I received an email that they found me can fit more in a different team than I applied for, I made a third interview with the Tech Lead for the new team we talked about my expiernce and some high performance patterns, Then there was the last interview with my team leader there and It was very cool we talked about php and different versions and what features I love about laravel and different features from laravel 5.3 until 5.6 it was a freindly talk not a hard teach interview, but I think the most intersting thing they are looking for is how you are up to date with modern technologies and stack, how you can communicate and how deeply are you understand the tools and languages you are working on.
I'm sure I will apply again someday there

Very disrespectful interview partners during the personal interview. Even though I invested my time to come to the personal interview, one of the interview partners was in a rush and was leaving the room frequently without saying a notice while I was answering their questions. The partners were not prepared for the interview at all and their unprofessionalism was quite visible. The questions were very unstructured and there were no connections between the answers and the questions, and she had on her hand the classical standardized questions such as where do you see yourself in 5 years or so. There were too less competence based questions. I would highly recommend to the company to have experienced HR employee during the interviews, otherwise, you would lose a lot.

Es gab zwei Telefoninterviews mit unterschiedlicher Detailtiefe worauf ich auf ein Persönliches Gespräch eingeladen wurde. Im Persönlichen Gespräch stellte sich heraus das sich die Anforderungen an die Stelle komplett geändert haben, möglicherweise aufgrund eines neuen Lead Developer. Einer der anwesenden Vorgesetzten versuchte über einen alten Chef von mit mir zu lästern, ein absolutes nogo.
