About months earlier before the interview took place i had received a call from their HR dept. confirming by background from Manual testing, no experience in automation testing & about a year experience in testing in Insurance domain, still my interview was scheduled on given day. Because of the brand name and opportunity to venture into entry level Automation testing i decided to attend it also the venue was not really an issue. I reached the venue on time and within minutes was sitting in front of the interviewer with no hassles which i feel is impressive on company's part. But the reaction received when she came to know my complete inexperience in automation was a let down confirming my outcome of the interview well ahead but since i was already inside i decided to give it my best shot. Over the course of time i was asked various textbook questions on various terminologies in software testing along with insurance domain based on what i had mentioned in the resume. I answered each one with confidence alongwith examples from my personal experience but it was obvious i wasn't least bit impressive for her. Then came questions on programming and database queries wherein i had few or no preparation and my confidence dropped further. As far as the total interview i would advice sound preparation on question pertaining to applied position, explain your resume with examples if required, be confident but dont act smart and be prepared for any off putting questions. Also i received a formal mail from their company informing me of my application rejection in skills interview which i would say again i am very thankful to them for that.
