I received two emails at the same time at 9:30am, one from an automated system asking me to complete a "homework" assignment, with a deadline in about a week and a half. The other email was from a recruiter saying "We think your background and skills could be a great fit for this role, and we're excited to learn more about you through our interview process!" and the recruiter asked me to use a Calendar link to identify some available times for me to meet with interviewers.
I had not acted on either of those emails yet, as I was still busy with my current workday, when 5 hours later I got a third email stating "Although we were impressed with your background and experience, we have decided to pursue other applicants who more closely reflect the needs of this position."
Talk about mixed messages! I'm not sure which of the three emails I should believe or act on at this point.
I emailed the recruiter back to ask what my actual application status is at this point, but after reading some of these other reviews, I'm not optimistic I'll get a response.
