      Account Representative Interview

      3 May 2013
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Salem, VA
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Aflac (Salem, VA) in Sept 2012

      Interview

I was contacted by phone shortly after updating my Careerbuilder account. The individual that I spoke to on the phone seemed to know frighteningly little about the position and kept urging me to come in for an interview. "I'm sorry, sir, you'll have to take that up with your interviewer." She was unable to answer any of my questions about the position, so I had no choice but to drive sixty miles round trip for the interview. At first, everything seemed fairly legitimate, but I was surprised to learn that What I thought was a desk job was, in fact, door to door sales at businesses. When I voiced my concern with my interviewer about how the first thing I saw when entering that very building we were in was a large-as-life sign that said "no soliciting" in the lobby, he insisted that it meant nothing. (I have worked as a front-desk receptionist before, and have had to call security on people who ignore those signs, I knew he was full of it.) My interviewer went on to explain to me that I would be working as part of a "team" under him, and that as such he would claim a percentage of any sales I made. In turn, I could hire other salespeople under me and claim a percentage of their sales. It was at this point that I had to point out that he had just described a multi-level marketing system and that I wasn't comfortable with that, and he became increasingly defensive and agitated. I walked out of the interview.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Aflac (Charlotte, NC) in Mar 2020

      Interview

Supposed to be in person but was over video call (because of coronavirus). Very nice guy asked very relevant questions and very easy to talk to. Interview was an hour long, not sure how long it was supposed to be. Never felt rushed once. Mostly talked about what I would be doing during the internship and the past jobs I have on my resume.

      Interview

Initial contact is followed by a group lnterview. That would be okay. Except they pretend that you will meet with Senior Management on the initial interview. I didn't continue myself, but I would recommend the job

      Account Representative Interview

      9 Jan 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Aflac (New York, NY)

      Interview

A recruiting coordinator emailed me after finding my profile on a job board. She offered an interview with a manager. When I arrived at the office for the scheduled interview, there were three other candidates waiting and we went into the meeting as a group. ** Fortunately, I had checked Glassdoor in advance and knew this would be the format. ** An account representative (not the name in the original email) gave a presentation on the benefits of the job and company. He went around the room and asked us to introduce ourselves. He said the group interview reflected the importance of teamwork on the job. Then it was like a sales pitch. He was open to our questions, which mostly focused on the on boarding process and compensation. We then left our resumes and picked up an information packet. The recruiting coordinator followed up a day later to schedule a one-on-one phone interview.
