The interview process at Akamai for the Software Engineer II (Salesforce) role was structured and focused heavily on core computer science fundamentals, particularly data structures and algorithms. The process consisted of the following rounds:
Online Assessment – The initial round was a timed coding test with 2-3 DSA problems of medium to high difficulty, hosted on a standard coding platform.
Technical Interviews – There were two to three rounds of technical interviews, each lasting about 45-60 minutes. These were primarily problem-solving sessions, involving in-depth DSA questions (trees, graphs, dynamic programming, etc.). I was expected to explain my thought process clearly and optimize my solutions.
Managerial Round – This round was a mix of behavioral and technical questions. It included situational problem-solving, past project discussions, and a few Salesforce-specific scenario-based questions (though Salesforce-specific content was minimal overall).
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Given a binary tree, return the lowest common ancestor (LCA) of two given nodes.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Akamai
Interview
Two stage interview process. First was a short recruiter call with no technical questions. Second was technical, covering API design concepts and PySpark fundamentals like Data Frames and basic transformations.
It was good, They hiring manager responded well and was bit tricky, but easy to clear if you prepare accordingly to the job description. The process was very good and quick.
I applied online. I interviewed at Akamai in Sept 2025
Interview
The interview process was straight forward. Three round, first one was interview with team lead to talk about your experience and role. Second interview was coding that include react and algorithm a bit. The role was related to frontend so they ask about frontend concepts of react like hooks, state, performance. Last interview was with management. This was more a behavioural interview with alot of discussion about past project.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
React concepts of hook, state and performance. Coding challenge was a real life problem with requires you to get information from API and alter the results using data structures.
