I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Alaska Airlines (Seattle, WA) in Oct 2023
Interview
I first applied and got invited to complete a virtual recorded interview within a few days. The virtual interview had hypothetical and experience (STAR format) type questions. I did that on a Friday and by Monday I got an email I was invited to attend a hiring event in Seattle. I flew in the night before and got a hotel nearby showed up to the event 10 minutes early. There were about 60 people there and they took people to do one on one interviews in order of sign-in so earlier is better. I made sure to greet everyone I met and talk to all the other candidates as they are observing you for friendliness and engagement. I asked lots of questions to the recruiters and really did my research on the airlines history and operations so i could make a point to discuss relevant info during the process. I kept my phone in my bag the whole day. The first personal interview had questions like tell about a time you were stressed and how did you deal. then mingled more. then got pulled for a group activity where four of us were told a scenario where we had to collaborate on a solution. i kept in mind that you can get creative i said something unique and funny just to stand out . after we mingled in group again and finally got pulled for interview with supervisors. these were more focused like can you move to any base, can you be dependable, another question tell about a time you got criticism and a time you helped a coworker having a tough time. after this i finally was told i was being given a CJO and was taken to do a drug test and complete background check stuff. long day getting there at 8:15, left around 5:30. keep energy up throughout.
