I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Amplitude (Singapore)
Interview
Prior to scheduling the phone interview all the way till scheduling of the second video interview with another teammate, the liaison was very responsive. Unfortunately, if you are not shortlisted, expect no updates, unless if you reach out to them on your own initiative.
The feedback was generic, just another company that highlights the lack of "technical skills" when nothing about APIs/SDKs were asked. Wondering how companies define "technical skills".
The second interview tests your statistical interpretation skills on an article given beforehand. The interviewer comes across as unprepared unfortunately. Constantly referring to notes and looking down. Constant responses from interviewer are "Hmmm, okay", then moving on to the next question on the list. Interviewer does prompt you to derive at answer that they are looking for, and it appears there's a "model answer" because despite explaining my rationale, the response was again "Hmm, okay" until I provide the "model answer". It doesn't test technical skills, refer to below.
Questions on where you would place the different values on a table shared and why? Similar to the table shared on the article. So be sure to understand how to read the table and answer why questions.
The interview process consists of five key stages: recruiter screening, technical evaluation, data analysis assessment, mock ticket challenge, and a final presentation. Additionally, you’ll need to familiarize yourself with Amplitude, as well as the company’s frameworks and scenarios. Be sure to align your answers with the company’s values at each stage to demonstrate your fit and commitment.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about the last time someone changed your mind. What did it take? What did they do/say?
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Amplitude (Amsterdam)
Interview
Took me amost a month to go through 5 interviews
First round: zoom with hr
Second round: zoom with manager
3rd: case analysis with senior
4rd: written test
5th: presentation
I indeed learned something during the interview but it’s way too heavy and time consuming for such an interview just for a platform specialist. It is okay you dont select me at the end but I think I deserve a reason why i am not selected after 5 interviews but they chose to ignore me.
