The Amyris’ interview process is very unprofessional. The first interview was with a typical non-technical recruiter.
The second interview was with one of their lead engineers with whom I had a lively discussion about my experience. At the end of the interview, he told me he was going to send me one of their problems seeking a solution and gave me a few weeks to complete it.
A few weeks after sending the solution file back to Amyris’s engineer I never heard back from him, so I emailed him and he still never responded to me.
With no response from him I contacted the recruiter and received an what seemed to be a automated rejection email.
When I asked if there was any feedback on the solution I provided, she responds with "Unfortunately your coding exercise was not as strong as we would have liked.". I expected a little more substantive feedback then this.
It’s surprising to me as we provide similar solutions to our clients at work and get paid money for it. This interview scam is like outsourcing without paying for it.
This is the worst interview experience I’ve had and must speak to the work culture at Amyris.
