I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Apple in Jul 2011
Interview
I was referred by a friend. The typical hiring process involves about 4 interviews. Since I was recommended mine was only 3.
They are looking for people who are people persons. The other technical stuff you can learn later, but be prepared to learn because there is much to know.
Famously competitive as always, my odds were better since I kept updating my resume whenever I was on the job search. They reached out to me first by email, I completed an application, and then had three rounds of interviews in total.
