I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Atlassian in May 2021
Interview
I found the people at Atlassian rude and demeaning. I've interviewed with the FAANG companies and Atlassian isn't even FAANG. People at FAANG are much more professional and really know their stuff. At Atlassian even the HR is rude. One HR at the end of a telephone call asked whether I had any questions. I wanted to ask a clarifying question she couldn't answer and just lost her patience saying "look there are a lot of other candidates...". At a coding interview, the interviewer gave me a problem to do and the interviewer didn't even give me time to think through the problem and just started giving hints and then gave feedback that I needed a lot of help. This happened with 2 different interviewers and 2 different coding interviews. And one of them didn't know his stuff properly and just wanted to show off how he knew how to do the problem using recursion. As I googled the problem later that the iterative solution is actually more efficient. But then again Atlassian isn't one of the FAANG.
Recruiter reached out to me then ghosted in the middle of trying to set up a meeting. Very disrespectful of my time. Just as well, how a company treats candidates is usually a good indicator of how they treat employees
Didnt get past OA, heard now has ai process. People are good but company is going downhill. Unfortunate for all good culture fits there s a lack of opportunity admist apex reviews to produce meaningful work.
Nice interviewer but i did not get an offer. good experience anyway i think.
I have heard good things about the company culture so i think it would be a good place to work
