I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Aviva (Norwich, England) in Mar 2019
Interview
I applied online during February 2019 and around 4 weeks later received confirmation I'd been successful in getting an interview. On reflection, I decided that the job wasn't for me and cancelled the interview. However, I received a call from their HR department saying that the hiring manager was disappointed I'd cancelled and was considered the strongest candidate they'd seen and wondered whether I would reconsider? I decided I had nothing to lose and went ahead with the interview.
The process was an informal face to face interview with both managers. I was given a demo of the system that if successful I'd be working on. A general chat about how I got into testing and that was it.
I was told that I'd hear whether I would be successful or not the following Monday or Tuesday. I received a call on Tuesday evening to say that they were still undecided and I would hear Wednesday. I heard nothing and as I was away for a few days was wondering whether I'd hear anything? I didn't.
I called on Monday and was told again they were still deciding on whether I was the right person or not. Finally heard on Wednesday almost 2 weeks after the interview that I'd been successful. However, the salary was way below what was being advertised and below what I am already on.
I asked whether they reconsider the salary. Sadly as of today 23rd April, I have been told that they wouldn't. It is disappointing because they'd advertised at 30 to 35K but offered 27.5K. I cannot see anyone accepting the role on that salary.
