I was approached for the role of tech product manager for second time within an year. At the first time, the hiring manager didn't join the call and I was sent a rejection email. Awesome I said For the second time, a different HR approached and scheduled a round with couple of hiring team members. There seemed to be a good match with the role and I was quite optimistic this time During the interview, there was a technical snag couple of times and had to join the call back. Also, child had hurt and had to step out for a minute. Looks like it was held against me and pointed out by the team Even then, offered to schedule a follow up discussion at panels convenience but was sent another rejection email Looking back, think I should just have refused to attend the discussion second time

The interview process was very straightforward. I had one on call introduction with the hiring manager with some profile related questions. Post that I had a telephonic interview with the VP. Finally I was called for a face to face discussion with the hiring manager again.
