    Graduate Trainee Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Stoke-on-Trent, England (UK)

    Average Interview

    Application

I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Bet365 (Stoke-on-Trent, England (UK)) in November 2019.

    Interview

Asked to an assessment centre after giving a CV to Bet365 at a careers fair a few weeks earlier.
The assessment centre took place at their stadium in Stoke, it was approx. 9 hours long. Activities included three group tasks (one presentation and two group exercises), a short mental maths test as well as a face-to-face interview. There were many long breaks between exercises, adding to the length of the day. The group tasks were engaging, however I would partly put this down to the rapport that my group had built up fairly quickly. Group tasks included suggesting improvement measures for a failing hotel, an exercise to save people who are stranded in a cave and a negotiation simulation between three fictitious countries.
The assessors turned up late to the start of the assessment day (due to traffic, although all candidates arrived on time) and as a result, the day didn't finish until around 17.45. No offer for a job, and when I asked for feedback, this was refused as it "isn't company policy". Felt like a waste of a day because of the lack of feedback.

    Trader Interview

    Anonymous Employee

    Neutral Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Bet365.

    Interview

Just asked basic sports, maths and computer questions. Wanted to know if I had experience in gambling or sportsbook industry, trading or otherwise. Was quite casual, even though it was a panel interview. I guess there isn't much else, as you can't study/get a degree for gambling so they're generally interviewing fresh faces to the industry.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at Bet365 (Stoke-on-Trent, England (UK)).

    Interview

    1. cca. 30-min phone interview (general questions about my work experience, the reasons behind the application, and my working processes)
    2. translation test (5 short texts to complete within 2 days, EN to HU and vice versa, marketing/gambling/sports/legal)
    3. personal interview (2:1) and closed book translation test

bet365 staff was very friendly, helpful, and supportive. Quick answers. We had to reschedule the phone interview unexpectedly and they took it in stride. The on-site interview included flights, transfer and accommodation paid by the company.

    Compliance Analyst Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Derby, England (UK)
    No Offer
    Negative Experience

    Application

The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Bet365 (Derby, England (UK)).

    Interview

Phone interview went ok. Then the f2f was a complete waste of time.

They spent nearly hour trying to put me off the job, and were quite discriminating about me having a young family.

The bet365 culture and fit are supposedly really
Important to them. Zero feedback and the biggest waste of time - you’ve shown me your true colours and are everything I do not want to work for.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3+ months. I interviewed at Bet365 (Sliema (Malta)) in June 2019.

    Interview

First contact came from HR requesting to execute an exercise in excel (a ppc campaign report) within one week time and send that back to them. About 10 days later a phone interview took place in order to discuss the exercise with the direct manager. The next step was a new task (presentation over a market research and competitors) to do in one week and present it at a face to face meeting. Afterwards there has been a new call to meet with the senior management and go through some questions over my experience and tasks completed.
