      Engineer Interview

      16 Feb 2011
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Comcast in Jan 2011

      Interview

I was contacted about a position by a recruiter from Comcast who was very excited about my resume. After hearing about the position I expressed my interest. I was contacted by someone a few days later who scheduled 2 separate phone interviews with the Hiring Manager and the Director which were a few days apart. After the second phone interview I was contacted to schedule a face to face interview with four (4) different people; 2 of which I had just did a phone interview with. The interviews were all scheduled for the same day. I arrived the day of the interview to find that 2 of the managers were not available and I would need to come back to interview with them. The reschedule was for the next week 7 days later. I made it to the last interview and thought all went well. I did not hear back from the recruiter for almost 2 weeks as the managers were very busy. Once I heard from the recruiter she indicated that the team wanted to offer me a position but not has full time as it was listed but contract to hire. They wanted to know my expected rate. After giving the rate I wanted I did not hear back from the recruiter for over a week. Once I did she said the team had concerns about my requested rate. I was ok with being flexible and asked that the team counter with a rate they wanted to pay. I did not hear back from the recruiter for another week and this time it was via email telling me the team decided not to move forward. The interview process was VERY unprofessional. How can you make an offer without a salary? After 6 weeks of interviewing they reposted the position. Overall feeling... Comcast does not want to pay for the experience professionals they are looking for.

      Interview

It's an on campus interview. Had 2 rounds. Online test, technical interview. Online test comprises of questions from java, python, C, C++, testing, core cs and more. mcq type questions. Had some coding questions too.Easy question only. Technical interview asked questions mainly from networks, projects, cloud, ai and resume based questions. Don't worry about the interview. It is ofcourse biased. Depends completely on your luck and with the mood of your interviewers. Still give your best. I gave my best still got questions that aren't relevant to my resume and the role.
