I was contacted by on LinkedIn by an internal recruiter. After the first phone screen, it seemed like it was a good fit, so I was scheduled for a secondary phone screen, which went well too. The next round was in-person at their offices in SM, one with a subject matter expert, and another with the hiring manager. The SME was a bit timid, characteristic to developers, so I felt like I was leading the interview to diffuse the tension. The hiring manager asked to do a case study and seemed to like what she got back.
After the 1:1, I haven't heard back in a week, and when I followed up with the recruiter, I was told they were still considering other applicants. They liked my management expertise, but found the specific technical knowledge for the position a bit subpar, which I was clear on from the beginning. Another follow-up later, I was told they were considering me for another role, which I never heard back on.
Overall, I found the lack of follow through very unprofessional and inconsiderate of my time. If you had to choose who to invest your time in for an opportunity, I'd recommend going with your other option.
