Applied online and held a phone interview. The person on the phone was friendly, said that I had made it this far due to an interesting cover letter. The phone interview was very standard, asking about my education and then my work experience. Unfortunately, weeks later, we (the other candidates for this role and myself) were told that there was currently someone supervising the role and that he/she was doing a good job so the company was not sure if it would still require external applicants. To say the least we were upset of having wasted time for role that was not actually up for grabs.
