      Level Designer Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 months. I interviewed at DigixArt

      Interview

I applied directly by email in December and only got contacted in mid-April — four months later — on LinkedIn, oddly for a Level Designer position instead of the Quest Designer one I had originally applied for. The conversation immediately showed a lack of attention to detail: the recruiter asked if relocating to Montpellier was possible, even though I already live there. I was then asked if I’d be willing to take a technical test. I said yes in principle, but suggested having a short call or interview first to establish a first contact and clarify expectations. They replied that if I had any questions, I could simply send them in writing — no call needed. Shortly after, I received the following assignment: "You are tasked with designing and prototyping a level for a first-person narrative adventure game, including any mechanics or narrative elements you want." I was given only two days to complete it, which is far too short to produce anything meaningful from scratch. I delivered the test within the deadline but received no acknowledgment or feedback, not even a confirmation that my submission was received. Almost three weeks later, I followed up and confirmed the file hadn’t even been opened. A few days later, I got a generic rejection message on LinkedIn, again with no explanation. Overall, this process felt careless and disrespectful of applicants’ time. No interview, no feedback, unrealistic test timing — a disappointing and unprofessional experience from start to finish.

Pourrais-tu aussi me dire si tu as de l'expérience avec Blueprint sur Unreal Engine, et si tu maîtrises BlockOut 3D dans Unreal ?
