- Initial phone screen
- On-site technical discussions with various team members
- Take-home coding assignment with backend and frontend portions. I felt it was way too long (they claimed it should take about 5 hours, but it took me the better part of a weekend). But they were available throughout the process and happy to answer questions.
- A brief final interview over the phone
I received an offer shortly after the final interview, which I accepted.
Less than 2 days before my scheduled start date, the company informed me that they were no longer allowed to hire a full-time employee (there was some issue with their board or investors). As a result, my start date would need to be delayed by at least 2 months. This left me in a bad position, as I only had one day left at the company I was leaving. I ended up accepting another offer.
I believe this is a promising business with good people and an interesting product. But it seems that joining this company is risky at the moment.
