      Senior IOS Developer Interview

      22 Aug 2014
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Eventbrite (San Francisco, CA) in Jun 2014

      Interview

The recruiter called me after an employee referral. The initial discussion with the recruiter went really well and I was setup for a technical interview with one of the principal engineers. The interview probed several areas of my knowledge in iOS and also the interviewer tried in places to get me answer the right answers as well. After that, I was given a coding challenge and a week to complete it. The challenge was not a brain teaser or anything. Was asked to use their API's and build an iOS app which can search for events. I put an entire week into the task and built a good looking and optimally written (allowing the time constraints) app which followed really good design principles. After this, few more rounds of interviews were setup with the other engineers in the team and I did mostly well in these as well. But I was called up after a week by the recruiter and was told that they were planning to go with internal candidates who were being cross trained into iOS.
