The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Front (San Jose, CA) in Sept 2021
Interview
The interview process was off to an amazing start. I had a pleasant experience with everyone I met.
I was given a clear idea of what the interview process would look like from start to finish:
A phone call with a recruiter, a hiring manager, two people from the sales team, and the head of global sales. Since this is a sales role, a mock call was part of the process.
Before I got to the last interview, the hiring manager has told me she wanted to give me an offer and to prepare my references. This was after I completed the mock call.
After my final interview, they asked for my references. To my knowledge, a offer is usually to follow after they call your referrals unless something goes wrong but this wasn’t the case. I was told that there was going to be another mock call, which I wasn’t told about at all from the start. I didn’t mind at all, I just wish they told me about this before reference checks.
I didn’t get an offer after that mock call. I completely understand why and appreciated the feedback. The reason why I had a negative experience was because the hiring manager prematurely told me she wanted to give me an offer. Moving forward with other candidates for this role, please be clear with the interview process from start to finish.
