Anonymous Employee
I applied through university. I interviewed at GE Vernova
They came on campus and I was invited for an interview which was really convinient because I didnt have to drive to their location. I was fortunate enough to have the HR Manager another location interview me and gave me the oppurtunity to think about my questions.

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at GE Vernova (Rugby, England) in Apr 2016
First stage was online tests on SHL website. Numerical and verbal reasoning if I remember correctly. Then came the video interview where they asked such things as: - Who is your hero and why? - Tell us about a time when you've persuaded someone to express their own opinion - Tell us about a time when you've been working on a project and something went wrong, how long did it take you to notice and how did you deal with it. After being told I was successful in the video interview I was put on a shortlist for face to face interviews, which I was then invited for roughly 2-3 weeks later. Approximately 45 minute interview held by 2 managers within the company. Fairly relaxed, nice and friendly. Very conversational as I found the interviewers actually wanted to find out more about myself than listen to answers I had prepared and scripted. Interviewers made me feel at ease and we shared a few jokes to help build rapport. Interview was successful and I was offered the job the next day.
- why are you studying accounting and finance?
- what do you want to get out of your placement?
- What can you tell us about GE as a whole and the individual company (energy connections)
- Tell us about a time when you have had to deal with change, and tell us about how you were proactive in dealing with that change
- what are your favourite and least favourite modules at uni and why
