Interview
I applied for the Google Summer Internship through the official Google Careers page. The application involved submitting my resume, basic details, and answering a few optional questions. The portal was user-friendly and provided a clear status tracker.
Although I haven’t received a response yet, the application process itself was smooth and professional. From what I’ve heard from others who went through further stages, the process usually includes multiple technical rounds focusing on data structures, algorithms, and behavioral questions related to Google’s core values.
Tips for Future Applicants:
Make sure your resume is strong and tailored to the role
Showcase projects, internships, or open-source contributions
Practice Leetcode (medium/hard) and Google-style interview problems
Prepare for potential questions on systems design, problem-solving, and coding under pressure
Overall Impression:
Even though I haven't been interviewed yet, the process felt fair and organized. Google is known for its rigorous selection, and it’s a great opportunity for any student aiming to grow in the tech field.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Q: What was the one thing that they asked you?
I haven’t been interviewed yet, but from what I’ve gathered through peer experiences and research, one common question Google asks interns is:
“How would you solve a real-world problem using code?”
They typically expect candidates to explain their thought process clearly, break down the problem, and write efficient code—often related to data structures and algorithms. Preparing for behavioral questions like “Tell me about a time you overcame a challenge” is also important.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Google in Jun 2022
Interview
There were multiple rounds of technical interviews. You should study as hard as you can to prepare for them. Know your data structures and algorithms. Also know dynamic programing and BFS / DFS.
