      I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Hexaware Technologies (Chennai) in Feb 2020

      They took everyone to a room and gave system and told to attend online test which contained answers of choose the best one type. I got the required mark and they told me to have lunch and be prepared for second round. I had the lunch and I was waiting for almost 30 minutes for second round. Finally the interviewer came to me and asked my name and took me to a room. He read my resume once and asked questions from variety of technologies like wcf, sql, csharp, asp.net, css, javascript etc and finally told me to do a coding test in paper and pen. I answered most of the questions in theory interview but they expected to write complex program using pen and paper within 5 minutes. I wrote algorithm and came with a solution but he is not satisfied and I told the same problem can also be solved recursively but still not satisfied and told me to leave. Why do these people ask candidates to write complex programs that too in perfect way without any mistakes using pen and paper without IDE?. I have 5 years experience in development why is this required I thought at first. I thought that with google and smartest Visual studio IDE and with development experience combined with human intelligence any engineer can solve almost any problem and arrive at solution in 20 minutes. They are doing this because the person who is interviewing me will be my coworker after getting recruited , Your potential coworkers who accessing you will discriminate against you if they feel you are a threat. So they will deliberately make the coding challenge simple but difficult. Again, they aren’t even qualified to access talent.They report back, “he/she not good enough or not up to speed”. Discrimination can be: school you attend, number of accomplishments, projects you have worked on, so on they are considering you as threat to their position. Hiring should always be based on the basic. It’s not the company like Hexaware, it’s the employees who are working there and conducting interview. They are the people who discriminate and they know it’s hard to prove it. Engineers, we are arguably the smartest people in the world. You should always be hired on potential and what you can figure out, not what you know. Cause with Google.com, combined with human intelligence, you can almost solve any problem. So coding challenges aren’t necessary.

      Mostly theory questions and a coding challenge. I gave the algorithm and way to arrive at the solution but the interviewer is not interested and he was in a sense of hurry to finish the interview because so many guys were waiting outside for next round.
