I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Hubgets (Warsaw, Masovia) in Oct 2025
Interview
The interview process with HubGets was straightforward and well-organized. I had an initial conversation focused on my experience, past design projects, and how I approach UX/UI challenges. Communication was clear, and the interviewer explained the expectations for the role and the next steps in the process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked me to describe one of my recent UX/UI projects and explain my decision-making process.

Interview
I had a meeting with HR that went smoothly. They were searching for full-time availability freelancers (and that's not really how it should work), and they don't really answer when you ask for clarity on the matter.
After the interview, they send you a home assignment: many companies do that, but their assignment is basically based on their product. It's a fictional name, but with the same functionalities and concept. I do not do product-related home assignments for job interviews, so I stopped the application process after reading the brief.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
- Describe past work experiences
- How to deal with projects going sideways
Summary for home assignment:
The company provided a “fictional” AI voice-agent brand and asked for two extensive design tasks.
Homepage Hero Section: Create a complete hero area for the website, including a fully custom illustration built from scratch (AI-themed concepts, waveforms, or human-to-AI interaction), a polished layout with headline, description, and CTAs, and a branded visual style. Deliverables required both high-resolution web assets and the original editable files (.ai or .psd), plus a written rationale explaining design decisions and brand alignment.
Feature Presentation Section: Design an entire feature/use-case section of the website, including 3–5 business scenarios (customer support, sales, booking, etc.), custom visuals or mock interface mockups for each scenario, a creative non-standard UI component for content presentation, and complete desktop and mobile layouts. Placeholder text and simulated conversations also needed to be created.
Overall, the assignment required multiple high-fidelity web sections, custom illustrations, visual assets, and source files, representing work typically done in a full design engagement rather than a short interview exercise.

Interview
Positives:
- the first interview with the Hiring Manager was really smooth
Cons:
- dealing with the Product Manager was a nightmare. Asking weird questions and acting all straight face and acting as if she was a design expert
- extremely long take home assignment (at least 30 screens). Most likely they are getting free work done for them like this because the job is still open.
- if I´d go back in time, Id refuse to do the take home assignment because it was literally free work done for them.
